Katie featured in a storytelling event for AZ chapter of NAPAWF

The Arizona chapter of National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF) held a community storytelling event on Sunday, January 10. Storytellers included women from the state’s diverse Asian populations, including: a third generation Japanese American whose family were Arizona farmers; a first generation Pacific Islander from Guam’s journey to becoming a citizen; an Indian woman who grew up in Congo and immigrated while in high school; a woman who immigrated from Hong Kong while in elementary school; and, two Bangladeshi American high school students whose parents immigrated to find a better life.  Katie added her experience as a Korean adoptee to this very moving, often humorous, and poignant mix of stories.
